Q: itunes wont play on new iphone

I got a new iPhone 6s plus yesterday.  I backed up my old 5s before getting the new phone so I when I got the new phone I restored it from the backup point.  I have gotten my apps all downloaded, but my purchased music will not play.  It is showing in my music but is grayed out.  When I tap on a song it says item not available and this item can't be played.  I went into the iTunes store and went to purchases and then the items not on this device and tried to download them from there but it keeps giving me an error message as well.  This one says unable to download songs and song could not be downloaded at this time.  I on wifi and also tried syncing it with my computer as well and that is not working either.  Please help as I am hugely frustrated.  Thanks.
