Q: Saved videos stop audio and turn white halfway

If anyone could help me that'd be great,

I've recorded some videos using the normal iPhone camera, and they played fine at first. It's been a month or so, and now when I go to play them, problems arise. The video plays fine for the first half, but halfway through it turns white and the audio stops playing, but the timeline at the bottom shows that the video is still playing.

Any solutions? These are precious memories and is hate to have them lost.

    Hi there Myriam,

It sounds like your existing and new videos will play about halfway then they seem to stop playing, but the playhead keeps moving. This sounds like a software issue that we should be able to troubleshoot. I woulds start by quitting the Videos, Photos, and Settings apps:

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, that tells me the OS is not handing the video correctly so I would backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, let us know how that goes!
