May 29, 2016 11:31 PM in response to abpianomanby léonie,No, sorry. All bars need to have the same time signature, Axel. It is not even possible to have different time signatures in a song in garageBand on the Mac.
What I am doing when I need to change the time signature within a song is to create each part as a separate song and then combine the separate audio files in a new song.

many thanks for your answer.
I have an Ipad - but I think this ist the same "Problem" as with the Mac, isn´t it?
I´m not sure how to solve my Problem.
The song is in 4/4 and there are only 2 bars of 3/4 and 2 bars of 2/4.
What exactly do you mean with: "create each part as a separate song and then Combine the separate Audio files in a new song"?
is there perhaps a tutorial for that??
Perhaps you can clarify my "question marks in my eyes"? Thx :-)

There are only two ways to deal with the changing song signature.
- If you are only recording audio instruments you could just set the song to 4/4 all the way, ignore the song signature and play your measures correctly. This will not work with smart instruments.
- Or create more than one song: one song with only the measures played in ¾, one song with the measures in 2/4, and songs with the segments in 4/4. Add these songs to the Music.app. You will need a computer to do that. Share the song fractions to iTunes, add them to iTunes on a PC or Mac, then sync the iPad with the computer, so you can access the songs in the Music.app. Now you can add the segments to a new project from the loop browser and arrange them in one song in the correct sequence. It is very clumsy.

many thanks for your answer.
As I use the Smart Instrument (Drum) and the Drummer my Problem can´t be solved :-(
that means I will have to use the "real drums" :-)
THX Axel
PS: I have posted another question: can I Import a song created by Garageband / Smart Drums to the APP FORSCORE..
What I want is to Play the piano with a piano transcription (Forscore) and at the same time have the drums from Garageband
Otherwise I always have to jump between Garageband and Forscore ...

May 30, 2016 2:39 AM in response to abpianomanby léonie,I've seen your other question, but I've never used Forscore. So I cannot help with that.
I'm doing all midi recording and creating in GarageBand and Finale on the Mac.
