How do I play a blue-ray dvd on a Macbook pro with a super drive? I am running 10.11.5 of El Capitan on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013). The Superdrive rejects the blue-ray dvd.

Super Drives are not compatible with Blu Ray - you will need to get a dedicated Blu Ray player
You need to purchase a USB Blu-ray player.
Be advised that you will need the appropriate software installed in your MBP as well as the physical blu-ray drive.

Thanks. This confirmed my understanding of the problem. However, I am still amazed that Apple would not include that capability in the Superdrive.
