Lost Disk Space After Bootcamp Restore - El Capitan

Hi,

I created a 49GB Windows Partition using Bootcamp and then attempted to restore the partition after. Upon restoring the partition I got an error message "Your disk could not be restored to a single partition". Since then I've "lost" the 49GB space.

I've checked similar thread, but i'm unsure on what to do to rectify this. Outputs from suggested commands are as follows:

I can see on the bottom screenshot the 49GB, but don't know how to free up.

I've attempted running Disk Utility in Recovery Mode and diskutil repairDisk disk0 but this did not resolve.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

You will temporarily lose Recovery HD. Please backup OS X.

1. Merge the Recovery HD into OS X. The order of disk slices is critical in the following command.

diskutil mergePartitions jhfs+ "Macintosh HD" disk0s2 disk0s3

2. In Disk Utility, extend the new OS X partition to cover the entire disk.

3. Re-install OSX and get your Recovery HD back.

If you are uncomfortable with Terminal commands, then

1. Backup OSX and all your files - Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support .

2. Boot into Internet Recovery (Command+Opt+R) - OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support .

3. Click on Utilties -> Disk Utility and Erase your internal whole disk.

4. Restore OSX and your files - Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support .

This requires a separate external disk which can accommodate TM backup - Backup disks you can use with Time Machine - Apple Support .
