Q: Iphone thumbnail picture quality

Hi,

I have an unusual problem. I have copied over my photos to my iPhone 6 manually meaning I have extracted them from my Iphone 5 and placed them in a folder on my desktop.

After I had done this I transferred them onto the icloud where they then appeared on my iPhone.

After clicking on these they appeared to be of significantly reduced quality. I'm not sure where I can get the original RAW files back from as it appears the ones I had copied over to my computer are of poor quality.

I have searched for the original backup on my computer as a last ditch attempt to find the original quality photos (I have it on my comp in the MobileSync folder) but I'm unsure how to back to this date as the iTunes app doesn't appear to let me do this?

Any ideas on how I can find these?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2

    Howdy Felics888,

It sounds like you extracted the photos from your iPhone 6 and the quality is less than what you are looking for. I would actually import the photos from the iPhone to your computer using one of the methods outlined in the following article:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Hey Felic,

When you visit your photos on iCloud.com from a computer, do the images still seem degraded? If not, see if you have Optimized iPhone Storage toggled on in your iPhone Settings>iCloud>Photos. This feature will display an optimized version of your photos and videos on your device when the software deems it necessary to save on storage space on your iPhone. You can still download the full-resolution of these photos or videos through iCloud.com or directly on your iPhone as you will see there in the Settings I have guided you to.

    Hope that clears things up
