IPad keeps prompting me to update, but fails every time I try. Says I'm not connected to the Internet

Is this the Pro 9.7? If so the update has been pulled due to issues.

Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage (the first one) > and if there is an update, delete it.

Yes, Thanks. Wish the IPad would quit trying to install it though.

You are welcome. It should quit if you delete the downloaded update as I mentioned above.
