I am importing MVI files from my Cannon T3i! After importing I have no sound. I did all the trouble shooting by checking the playback feature and still am stuck. Please help! The files have audio before I import them. Thank you for any feed back!

YYou need to convert the files to QuickTime.
What is happening? Why can't I just do it the normal way? It's really frustrating. lol
MM id a dvd based format. The audio is muxed into the video. It has to be separated out for production. It's very unfortunate that the camera shoots this format.

Have you copied the card to the Mac?
Please open a clip in the Finder in QuickTime Player. Then bring up the Inspector by entering Cmd-i. Then post a screen shot of the report.

Ah right. Sorry, leave me out.
I copied the card on my external. I then imported it into fnp x. All sound worked until I imported it.
The problem may be with the "sowt" codec. Do the clips play in Quicktime Player with sound?
Can you open the clip in QuickTime and post a screenshot of the Inspector report?

Yes it plays in quick time.
