Messages not functional after 9.3.2 update on iPhone 5

After the 9.3.2 update on my iPhone 5, there have been multiple issues with the Messages app:

1) All previous messages have been deleted

2) Each time I restart the Messages app, all more recent messages also become deleted

3) Every time I try to send a message, it will continue to say sending, however, others will have received the message

4) I do not get any notification sound, text, or even blue circle by any new messages received

In order to remedy this, I have tried many things including:

1) restarting Messages

2) restarting iPhone

3) Forced reset

4) Complete restore of iPhone

5) Turning off do not disturb

6) Checking notifications are on for Messages

Unfortunately, nothing I've tried has helped. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Quite frustrating, as I use the Messages app for my work.

You said you did a complete restore of the phone - did you restore from backup - if yes then set it to factory defaults and log in with Apple ID like it was a new phone - DO NOT restore backup until you check if Messages is working as designed

If it still does not work

Please make a Genius appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

Messaging works when restored to factory settings as a new iPhone.

When restored via backup, it doesn't work properly.

Is there an easy way to put back files (e.g. photos, audio files, etc) without doing the restore from backup?

Import the photos to your computer first and then sync them back. That will preserve them.

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

The audio files can be synced from iTunes as well, you will not have to repurchase any of them as long as you are using the same Apple ID.

I recently upgraded from iOS 7 to iOS 9.3.2 in IPHONE 5C Model, upgrade was complete but sendind and receiving message was not working as before.

1. If i send SMS it says Sending .... but it was already reached.

2. If i get new message, I am not getting notification.

3. After some couple of hours, all the messages were auto deleted

4.if i restart my IPHONE, all messeges were deleted.

I tried by reset all settings and restarting my iphone nothing helped.

Please help me to solve my problem
