How can I remove my child from the Family Share - so I would be able to remove my credit card details?

How can I delete the Apple Id from my child? Would that help?

See : Leave Family Sharing - Apple Support

Children under 13 can't be removed from a family. If you need to, you can transfer the child to another family or delete their Apple ID.

If you can't delete its account yourself try contacting iTunes Support (obviously deleting an account will delete any purchases done on the account).

Cancelling my credit card would practically "remove" it from my iPad and Apple Cloud/Store.

And obviously stop any account that the card is linked to from being able to download anything from the stores.

How can I permanently remove my credit card details from my iPad, Apple Cloud or any other Apple repository?

You would first have to disband the Family Share - see my above link

How can I go back to Payment method "None"?

You can't delete your account. Card details are linked to an iTunes account, they are not linked to your iPad.

You would have to log into each account that you've linked to the card to and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove it - which you won't get whilst you are a Family Share organiser.

After cancelling my credit card, would I be able to download FREE applications from the AppStore (as it was when the payment method was "None")?

Not if the card is still linked to the account that you are trying to download content on. You would have to see if you then get the 'none' option on the account.

After cancelling my credit card, would I be able to download applications directly from the Internet (using Internet browser)?

No, whether you do or don't cancel the card you won't be able to, there isn't an internet front-end to the iTunes stores

If I would sign-out my Apple id from my iPad, would that remove all of my personal details from the iPad (including my credit card details)?

Your card details aren't stored on the iPad, they are stored on your iTunes account. Logging out would remove other details that are linked to the account e.g. if you have contacts, calendar info linked to that account.

Can I erase my iPad? Can I re-format it so it would not hold my credit card details?

You can remove all content from the iPad, but as your card details aren't stored on the iPad there aren't any card details to remove from it

Hi King Penguin

Thank you for your kind response.

How can I contact iTunes Support?

Since my 7 years old child is below 13 - Apple doesn't let me remove him from my family share.

Should I pay Apple to contact iTunes Support (to remove my credit card details)?

No purchases were done on this account.

This is the only Apple account that I have and this is the only account that has my credit card details.

I have purchased my iPad 3 days ago.

I haven't purchased anything from iTunes/iCloud or any other Apple Store.

I have never used my credit card details on my iPad.

I have entered the credit card details just because Apple docs says that this is the only way to add a family member (and it says that you can change the payment method afterwards - but u can't).

When the payment method was None - I have downloaded FREE applications ( Waze, YouTube, Clash Royale ).

Thanks

Ofer

Hi

I have an iPad Pro.

I didn't want to share my credit card details with Apple. The Payment method was "None".

I wanted to create a limited child account for my 7 years old child.

The documentation says that you need to specify credit card details and you can change that later.

I have added my child as a family member but NOW I can't remove my credit card details.

Do I need to cancel my credit card for that to happen?

To contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww or https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

Should I pay Apple to contact iTunes Support (to remove my credit card details)?

No, contacting iTunes Support is free. If they remove the child and you disband the family you can then see if you can remove the card from your account : Change or remove your Apple ID payment information - Apple Support

and it says that you can change the payment method afterwards - but u can't

You can change the payment method (e.g. using a different card), but it also says that you have no payment method :

If you're the organizer, you can use these payment methods. You can’t set your payment information to None.

A child account can only exist as part of family sharing, and the organiser in family sharing has to have a valid payment method on the account - you won't be able to remove the card whilst family sharing. If you get the card cancelled you and the child won't be able to download anything as the card will no longer be valid.

How his the child's account logged in on the iPad ? You can log out an account for the stores by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store etc.

No, I'm not sure why you think that getting a credit card cancelled would somehow remove an iTunes account from a device.

Hi King Penguin

Thank you for your prompt response.

I don't want to share my credit card details with Apple.

I don't want to store my credit card details on the Internet, on my iPad or anywhere else.

The Payment method was "None" and it worked fine for me.

I was able to successfully download and install Waze, YouTube, Clash Royale and other FREE applications/games from the AppStore.

I don't want my child to download anything from the AppStore. Definitley not using my credit card for downloading apps/games.

I don't want to download any apps that are not FREE from the AppStore.

Since iPad doesn't support multi-accounts, my 7 years child is only registered at the Family Share (using iCloud.com email address). Currently, my child is not able to login to the iPad by himself. Currently, the iPad account and apple id are mine. I was hoping that I would be able to create a limited restricted child account for my child - so he would be able to login (using his own password or fingerprint) - but I guess Apple don't support multi-accounts on iPad....

Cancelling my credit card would eliminate the risk of unauthorized/careless usage of my Credit card.

Is sharing my credit card details with Apple - a non-reversible operation?

Thanks
