I just want to import my pictures

Hello!

I am trying to write a script to create a folder on the desktop, import all images from the connected iPhone (via USB), then do some other stuff with the pictures and finally delete the folder.

I have all the easy stuff working. I just can't get AppleScript to import the pictures. I am able to get AutoImporter to do so each time I connect the iPhone, however I really do not want to have to physically disconnect / reconnect the phone between each cycle.

So is there a way to either:

1. Script AutoImporter to run it's import (simply triggering the app doesn't work)

or

2. Programatically disconnect / reconnect the iPhone to trigger the whole sequence.

or

3. Some other way of importing all photos off the iPhone to a given folder that I haven't thought of - without physical interaction.

Thanks for your help! I have been beating my head against this issue for hours! You would think this would be easy peasy given we are talking about 2 Apple Products here...

iPhone 5, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)
