Mac Compatible Scanners

Does anyone have a recommendation on a document scanner that is compatible with mac os X with twain drivers? I will be using it for document OCR with Adobe acrobat 8.0, but many of the scanners don't support twain so you have to scan the page, then move it to pdf then run the OCR.

has anyone tried any of the following scanners or have another recommendation?

Fujitsu ScanSnap S500?

HP ScanJet 7650??

HP ScanJet 8270?

Xerox DocuMate 152?

thanks,

mhp

Hi mhpp,
I've used the S500M. Very fast. Easy to use.I wouldn't run a photo thru it but for documents its unbeatable.I think this link will be able to give more info than I can here. I know they had some issues with Adobe acrobat 7. Since I only use it for pdf files your question about OCR use on the Mac, I can't answer. I believe its supportrd on the PC side. The S500M is the Mac model

I have found that the best bet for using any scanner is to buy VueScan ( http://www.hamrick.com/ ).

I have an older MicroTek 5700 scanner (FireWire and $400 when new). I did not want to buy a new one. VueScan (for $90 for lifetime support) was worth every penny to me.

It does have excellent functionality from my perspective.
