May 31, 2016 5:55 AM in response to airwjo007by Leopardus,You can't. Only iMacs (not all of them) could be used as such. The only thing you can do is Remote Desktop.

May 31, 2016 6:16 AM in response to Leopardusby Grant Bennet-Alder,You can also do screen sharing:
System preferences > Sharing > Screen sharing
The ( share Screen ) button appears in the heading of a Finder Window when you reference the other Mac, and you can click to get access.
There are several settings (from the window of the Mac viewing the Shared screen) to reduce the amount of raw data required over the Network.

May 31, 2016 7:19 AM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Leopardus,You are correct, of course (and I am aware of the option), but he will only see the exact same stuff that he has on the display of the MBA. I think the OP is looking into ways to expand his Display real estate, without acquiring another display of some sorts. Unfortunately, with the availability of other resources, it is not quite doable as envisaged by him.

May 31, 2016 8:34 AM in response to airwjo007by Grant Bennet-Alder,everyone who responded told you that a MacBook cannot be used in that way. MacBook has no display inputs.
With a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter connected to the ThunderBolt port on your MacBook Air, you could easily run a HD TV set at 1080p as a display.
