Q: iphone prompts wrong email password
So a couple of years ago the email I used for my apple ID became no longer usable. So I changed it to a new email adress. It took some work but I finally managed to change it to the right account on all my devices. I've also changed the password since.
Recently I lost my iPhone 5s, and I just received a replacement (second hand) iPhone 5s in the mail. When I went to restore from I cloud I filled in my account details, using my new email and password. However then it asked me for the password belonging to the old email adress!? It had something to with restoring existing purchases. I tried using my current password, but that didnt work. I don't remember the original password and I couldnt change the email.
Eventually I just decided to skip the step. But I'm wondering how this could have happened. Note that I never created a second account, I just changed the email. Does this mean that there are still purchases somehow connected to my old email? Will I be missing out on those purchases? The phone has now been restored, and I dont seem to be missing anything recent, but I've noticed in the past few years that songs that I thought I purchased before just werent there.
iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2.1
