iPhone front camera

Hello Apple Community

I am ina bit of a pickle and hope someone out there can help me.

On Sunday I noticed my front facing camera when initialised produces a black smudge spot in the centre of the picture, the screen is fine and its only with the front facing camera facility.

I bought my iPhone from Apple in September last year, I am currently in South Africa so I got hold of the authorised sellers of Apple, the iStore, i chatted to someone online and explained my predicament, they advised me to book my phone in for a repair which a dually did. I went this morning to hand it in only to be told that South Africa and Mexico are the only 2 countries not included in the International Warranty Program.

In short I was indirectly told that I would need to send my iPhone to the UK if I needed a repair - what sort of customer service is that?

So, my question is, does anyone have a answer for me or can guide me in the direct way. I will be returning to the UK but it will be after my warranty has expired.

I'd recommend contacting Apple Support directly. I believe that if you have an open case with Apple before your warranty expires, they will still perform the repair after the warranty has expired if you have an open support case. Try and get an appointment scheduled at the genius bar at the nearest Apple Store to you in the UK.

Hi Eric

Thanks for the reply, problem is I am in South Africa not the UK. I can't seem to find any emil address for Apple and every link I click on takes me to the SA site. All i want is a email address to I can email someone to try get a answer.

Thank you D. Cohen for your response, I have had a look but I have tried everything, it definitely needs to go into Apple to be checked out, but I am having no joy in South Africa 😟

Ah, makes sense. Unfortunately there is no direct customer service email for Apple. You can try calling them and opening a repair case that you could then pursue once in the UK.

Its all very frustrating indeed, I have only recently moved back to South Africa after living int he UK for over 11years, I have always had Apple products, too many infact, but I've never experienced any issues with support until now.
