Q: Canon Pixma780 and EL CAPITAN

I have a Canon Pixma780 (printer, scanner, faxer, etc) and it does not work ever since I upgraded to OS E El Capitan 10.11.5.  Can someone help as Canon said no drivers were available for my operating system anymore and I don't want to have to buy a new printer....ugh.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    Howdy nicki,

     

    Sounds like you need to try and get your printer working again now that you've updated your OS to 10.11.5. If Canon has no updated drivers for you, we would suggest starting with the section titled "If your Mac doesn't see your printer or have the software for it" in the following article to get started on the Mac side:

     

    Get help resolving printer issues on your Mac

     

    If that doesn't get you up and running, then we would next recommend the bottom half where it says "If you have some other printing issue" for additional assistance. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, all the best!
