Macbook palmrest cleaning (Couldn't find answer)

I searched the Forums and couldn't really find an answer. I have a month old macbook, and the palm rests are starting to get dirty, this material must be more prone to dirtiness than my ibook. I was wondering how to clean it, I used a pine computer cleaning spray, but the Macbook feels that the material is much more delicate/

Should I get a tiny sponge and dishwasher fluid? should I try the computer pine cleaning spray (made by West)?

Please Help

So happy to see this thread. My daughter's MacBook palmrest is filthy, too. My wife tried cleaning it and then turned it over to me, but I had no success either. It's as if the dirt has permeated the molecular structure because the surface feels clean but the white color has turned the brownish hue of a lightly roasted marshmallow. The only painful thing I must face is that my wife said to take the MacBook to the Apple store, which I thought was ridiculous, but since some of you did, I definitely will do so now. Thanks for the help.

Yes, that's Apple's official position when the case has to do with the discoloring faulty palm rest case material, I had that which was simply impossible to clean as the yellowish stain was like built into the material. So I contacted Apple and got that porous plastinc part replaced by a new case with a different material, I could feel the difference just by passing my finger over the new smoother material which is very easily cleaned and is the material that comes with the newser MacBook.

But do to sweat and grease produced by your hands when typing for longer times, some harder to clean stains are produced (not like the ones produced before with the discoloring), these stains can be easily get rid of (CONFIRMED) with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser, by using it very carefully and not too damp. But it's very easy in any case. There's also the 3M sponge wich I learn is very similar to the Mr Clean sponge.

PS- Didn't Apple Correct this problem? I heard there was a recall a couple of months back from a friend, this they change the material or jsut change the rests.
