Logitech LX710 Keyboard - Opening Drive Door OSX

Download the utility TinkerTool (www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com.) Open it and click on the Applications icon in the toolbar. At the bottom is an option to place an Eject button in the menubar.

Contact Logitech about the problem because it is their keyboard and they are the ones who you should deal with for tech support.

If the keyboard has no Eject key, holding F12 down for a couple of seconds should do it.

I'm sure you've looked, but I have a Logitech keyboard and wireless mouse combo, and I found the Mac driver/control center from Logitech online with the support drivers and assigned a button to CD tray open/eject and it works fine.

I'm using an older Adesso keyboard on a KVM switch for 3 computers, and pressing F12 works to open the SuperDrive. What would work if I add a second optical drive?

Holding down the Option key while pressing F12 for a few seconds should make it open the second optical drive.

Today, I visited a genius bar and called AppleCare with the question: "How do I open an empty Optical Tray using a keyboard with no "Eject" key?" Neither could help me. However, AppleCare suggested I consult the discussion groups. Good thinking!

Thanks to the discussion group for the F12 key solution to my problem.

It would be nice if the "Eject" command in the Finder>File menu would work even if the tray is empty.

When I added a Pioneer drive to the existing Sony, the Eject Icon appeared on my Menu at the top of the display. I can click it and it allows me the option for operating either drive. The Option Eject also works for my second Pioneer drive.
