13" mid 2012 macbook air experiencing video artifacts...known problem?

My macbook air is randomly showing video flaws, screwed up parts of the screen, seems to be on startup, not so much after it warms up. happens on the desktop, or in foxfire, or in video games, happened before and after updating to el capitan. sometimes sections of the screen flash. Is this some known flaw? is there perhaps some some campaign to provide a repair? of course, my 3 year apple protection plan just expired 🙂

I am not aware of any program by Apple regarding video issues with MBA's.

You could attach a monitor to the MBA and that might indicate if there is a GPU or Display/Display connection problem.

An Apple Hardware Test might provide a clue:

Note that error free AHT's are not conclusive.

The best option will be an appointment at an Apple genius bar for a FREE evaluation.
