Q: MM connectivity with my PC

I'm having trouble getting my magic mouse to stay connected to my Dell laptop. It connected initially and worked for about a half hour, but now it's not staying connected and I can't use it at all.

It seems to be functioning fine with my MacBook Pro.

Please tell me there isn't some stupid apple block on the mouse working with PC? If anyone has any advice on how to fix it, please let me know. It's incredibly frustrating doing graphic design with a touch pad, and I really would hate to have to buy another mouse because Apple has daddy issues when it comes to compatibility.

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Your profile says you use Mavericks.  If you have upgraded to El Cap and / or have recently bought a Magic mouse 2, that may be the cause.  Could you confirm which versions you have of the OS and the Mouse.

I am on El Capitan on my Mac, but the mouse works fine on my Mac; it won't stay connected on my PC. I have no idea what version of the mouse I have. I got it a few years ago so it's probably not MM2.

I suggest you should update your profile, if only for the records.

Your mouse is probably a MM1 mouse and ought to work quite well with El Capitan, but El Capitan has a mouse (MM2) designed for it.   And the MM2 is unlikely to function too well with Windows.    It isn't an Apple block on the mouse.  It's that El Capitan functions best with the mouse designed for it and that design does not consider its use with other operating systems.    You could ask, 'Why should it' but there is a distinct difference in the nature of the systems.

Ok... but my mouse works perfect with my Macbook Pro. That's not the issue. Thanks for answering though.
