May 31, 2016 2:26 PM in response to kelene_milenaby BobTheFisherman,Don't use a Windows program to rename your OSX files. Use a batch file rename app made for OSX. https://www.google.com/search?q=osx+batch+file+rename&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Jun 1, 2016 7:03 AM in response to kelene_milenaby IMWJL,You're probably safe to rewrite or rename some files with a guest operating system but leave system and preferences files alone. I work with a Windows VM running and it's quite often when it and the software there write to the host OS. Most often that's text files, MS Office, photos, and at times video.
I use VMware Fusion to run Windows on Macs but there are other known-good solutions. If this is bias, it's well founded or supported. I run an enterprise on top of VMware and appreciate the overall support, feature set, and for Fusion, ability to also manage enterprise resources.
VMware might cost more but you buy into a family of top tier enterprise products. There have been a few instances where my users or my personal support from VMware has been absolutely world class. Vendors blamestormed and accused the Mac as source of the problem but VMware support engaged Microsoft support to back my finding a vendor's server security (Kerberos) configuration as the problem. All the Apple "Genius" people could do was say "try Parallels, that's what we sell" while VMware and Microsoft offered support beyond Apple's.
