How can I change my iCloud.com email address?

It does not make sense that one cannot change the @icloud.com email. I am not sure if I created mine, but my name is not correctly spelled, never has been on it. So I cannot change it, I have to live with it and use an alias and rember my misspelled name for my main account?

You cannot change Apple domain email addresses that end in @me, @mac, or @iCloud.com. I take it that the iCloud address you are referring to here is the iCloud account associated with the @me Apple ID? Because the one associated with the gmail.com account should change when you change its associated Apple ID.

As Gail says, you can't change the primary @icloud email address, BUT you can create an email alias.

So if your Apple ID is sallyjones@icloud.com, you can create an alias of sallysmith@icloud.com which will function as an email address for you, but not as an Apple ID.

In other words you can't sign in and out using sallysmith@icloud.com as it is not an Apple ID, just an email alias.

You can have 3 aliases at any one time.

An @icloud email address is also an Apple ID. You can't change an Apple ID.

It does not make sense that one cannot change the @icloud.com email.

And yet, that's the way it is.
