May 31, 2016 9:02 PM in response to Htlanby Protodd,There are two ways to pair your Apple Remote with your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation). You can go to Settings > General > Remotes and choose Pair Apple Remote, or press and hold the Menu and Right buttons for five seconds.

Jun 1, 2016 1:51 AM in response to Htlanby Winston Churchill,I suspect you need to unpair not pair. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

Jun 1, 2016 6:16 AM in response to Htlanby Vinceassociate,First, when you press a key on the remote, does the light flash on the ATV?
If so, does it flash 3 times for each press?
If so, you need to un-pair the remote: Hold the remote close to the ATV and press the Menu and Left arrow keys for 6 seconds then try using it again.
On the other hand, if the light does not flash when a button is pressed, the remote is bad. Restart the ATV by unplugging it for a minute and replugging it to make sure the ATV is not in a funk.
If you restart and still no light blink, change the remote battery.
If still no joy, buy a new remote.
