Q: My iTunes purchase isn't showing up

I bought an album from iTunes for the first time today, and I have no idea what happened to it. I figured a download or something would start, but nothing happened. I keep checking back to my list of purchases, but nothing is listed there. It's almost like I never made a purchase. However, I know that a transaction has been made, because my credit card site claims that it has. So...what happened to my music? Am I just doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated, please and thank you.

    Hello there Mailrebel,

It sound like you are unable to see any of the music you purchased from the iTunes Store in your iTunes library. I would start by checking to see if it shows in your Purchased history:

See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC

If it is there, then check to see if you can download it with the instructions from this article:

    Download your past purchases

If you do not see it there, then that would indicate that the items are in your library already. Search for a few of the tracks in iTunes using Spotlight:

    Find items and duplicates

Find an item in your iTunes library or a playlist

    • Click the search field in the top-right corner of the iTunes window and type search criteria for the item you want to find.

      The search field in iTunes

As you type, iTunes displays a list of items that match the criteria you entered. To see your search results in the iTunes window, press the Return key.

To see all your items again, delete the text from the search field (or press the Escape key).

Tip: To delete text quickly, click Delete icon, an X inside a gray dot in the Search field.

The search field with text typed in and an arrow pointing to the delete icon

If you're still not seeing it there, then I would report a problem with the purchase to the iTunes Store support directly:

To get help, follow these steps:

    1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
    2. Enter the Apple ID and password that you used to buy the item, then choose Sign In.
    3. Choose Report a Problem next to the item that you need help with.
    4. Choose your problem from the menu.
    5. Follow the onscreen steps. You might need to send us more information, contact the app developer, or download the item again.

From: Get help with an item purchased from the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, all the best!

I've checked my purchases, purchase history, and my library, and it's just not in any of those places. I've tried reporting a problem as you suggested, but everytime I do, a message comes up that says, "No content available for reporting a problem. To report a problem about purchases older than 90 days, contact iTunes Store Support." So it looks like the system won't even let me report a problem because nothing is detected? As I've already stated, it almost seems like I didn't even make the purchase, but my credit card site claims that one has been made, so now I'm just really confused.

Thank you for the update! I would try the Get Help link one more time, and if it still isn't working properly, I would reach out to them with this support link instead:

The problem has now been solved. The transaction on my credit card site ended up disappearing, so I tired to buy the album once more. This time it worked and it downloaded instantly. There no longer appear to be any more problems. I think the iTunes Store might have been down when I first tried to make the purchase, even though the system status said everything was okay. Either way, everything is fine now! Thanks for the help!
