May 31, 2016 8:46 PM in response to Mulderscullyby gail from maine,With Two Step Verification, you are required to use App-specific passwords for apps that do not natively use Two Step Verification. You need an App-specific password to sign in to FaceTime and Messages.
Here is the support article telling you how to generate an App-specific password for you apps. You would type that password instead of your Apple ID password in when you want to sign in to one of those apps:
