Q: Neil Young "Everybody's Rockin'" is on iTunes but my identical CD is not recognized by iTunes when I transfer it to my computer. Why?

My Neil Young "Everybody's Rockin' " CD was not identified by iTunes when I transferred it to my computer. The identical CD/disc is available for sale at the iTunes store.  I have other CD's like Miles Davis, Clash, Cranberries, David Bowie and all my CD's have been recognized as well as the CD cover artwork. Why isn't the Neil Young CD recognized?

Help's appreciated

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Hi,

This sometimes happens for no apparent reason! Sometimes where iTunes has a remastered version, the tracks are uploaded. Does the original disc have any faults?

My copy of this CD, purchased when first released in the 90's has been matched. Try deleting the tracks then reripping the CD in a different format with bit rate of 256 Kbps. There is no guarantee that you will get a match but at least the uploaded tracks would have similar quality to the iTunes store versions.

    thanks Jim

I'll give that a try. I did 'retry' the upload and the same results. I ended up taking a screenshot of the iTunes CD cover and applying it to the added CD. So I've got a work around but it's fussy.
