Q: How to take mono material on one channel and copy it to the unused channel?

I am recording audio to my canon 5d using some sennehiser EW 100 G3 wireless lav mics. The canon is only recording the audio to the left channel. What will be the easiest way to just copy this audio to the right channel (i.e. make it mono audio but coming from both speakers) either inside or outside of FCP X? r

I know of course I could rip the audio out of the video, export it as wav, edit it in some audio editor and then drop it back in and sync it but I'm hoping there is an easier and faster way with less steps.

IIt's not necessary. If you have stereo output it will be in both channels.

No the problem is the that the camera is only recording to 1 channel and then when I watch the playback on my computer the voice is only coming out of the left channel. Same thing after I have imported it into FCP X... Is there an easy way to get it on both channels? Thanks.

So it's actually a stereo recording. Go into channel configurations in audio. Switch it to dual mono, and switch off the unused channel.

I believe i found the setting. It has to be set to dual mono. I am not sure how I got to this screen though, is there a short cut to get here or something I can search in help that will point me directly to this menu?

CCommand-4 opens and closes the inspector. You're in the audio tab. If you have multiple clips that all have the same channel configuration you select them all and change them at the same time.
