Q: My iMessage app is broken after an update to iOS 9.3.2

I recently updated by iPhone 5c from iOS 7.0 to iOS 9.3.2. Immediately after, my iMessages stopped working. They would deliver, but on my phone it still said "sending 1 of (however many messages I try to send). Also, whenever anyone sends me a message it no longer shows up in the notification center, on the lock screen, as a banner, or as an app icon even though I have all of these turned on under settings. And, whenever I turn off my phone or restart it, any messages I've sent/received disappear. I've already tried restarting iMessage, restarting my phone, and even resetting all setting. Nothing works. Please help me.

If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support

Apple has provided public information for users when they are experiencing such issues that only occur within a given, user installed, app. If you still have trouble with this app after having attempted all steps as they are listed, you can contact the developer of that app to inform them that this app is having trouble on your build of iOS. That way they can apply that knowledge to a quick update to the app itself.

Are you having this problem with all messages? Or just with iMessages (blue)? Or just SMS (green)? If it's SMS messages, contact your carrier and have them check your account.

A couple of things to try:

    • Force restart your phone by pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the apple appears, then let the phone continue to start up.
    • Try resetting your network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Note: this will delete any saved WiFi passwords.
    • Sign out of iMessages and sign back in.
    • Restore your phone from a back up.
    • Restore as new.

Time for me to get some coffee...I totally read the OP as Messenger and not iMessage

    It happens. No worries.
