Does everything erased when you restore an iPad with Itunes?

I just gave away my iPad pro and before that I turned off 'Find my iPad," and restore it on iTunes on my computer. I wanted to make sure that when i clicked on restore iPad, it deleted everything.

Thank You!

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.2

Yes I did: a full backup on iTunes, thereby preserving all your stuff elsewhere, then after turning off Find My iPad in Settings, but what I did not do was the erasing all content and settings, I just plugged it on my PC and restore the ipad.

If you did a full backup, then do a restore, your device content will be exactly the same as before. What you should've done is the bolded text above (erase all content and settings) and give it away right after that. Your iPad will contain nothing except iOS and its default apps. If you do a restore, you're putting everything back to the iPad as if you have never erased anything.

Yes, that will erase everything in the device. You can read this for more information.

Wait a bit....

You GAVE AWAY the iPad to some other person. So the iPad should have gone away in a completely blank state, with nothing left of your stuff and info. So first you made a full backup on iTunes, thereby preserving all your stuff elsewhere, then after turning off Find My iPad in Settings (thus decoupling the device from your AppleID's monitoring capabilities), you went to Settings / General / Reset and tapped on Erase All Contents and Settings?

That yields a completely blank and unregistered device that the new owner can register and activate to their own AppleID and preserves all your stuff safely. "Restoring" anything means you are loading your info on a device no longer yours.

You can also visit your support profile and delete the device there as well, just for completeness sake: https://supportprofile.apple.com/
