Learn about iTunes: Possible iTunes Store errors
obviously

Q: The iTunes store is unable to process purchases at this time. Please try again later.

The following error, which has never happened to me before, started happening to me on the afternoon of 2016-06-02:

The iTunes store is unable to process purchases at this time Please try again later.

The above error happened on my iPhone 6s running iOS 9.3.2 and my Windows 10 (fully patched) PC as soon as I tried to download some updated apps via the "Update" tab on the Apps page of iTunes 12.4.0.119.

Since this has *NEVER* happened before *AND* it is happening on two different devices using two different networks, I hope this is a temporary issue with Apple's servers.

1. Has anyone experienced this issue before?

2. Was it an Apple server-related issue that had nothing to do with your devices?

3. How long did it take for Apple to fix their server issue so that you could resume downloading apps (either new ones or updates to existing ones)?

I am having this issue on my Macbook Pro. I can't use Pages because the download is paused and I can't get iTunes store to connect to complete the update. Not good at all...

i just backed up my phone prior to sync after upgrading to ios 10. I resynced my audio, which took a while, and that went ok. But I couldn't pull my purchased from store and couldn't figure out why. So I decided to sign out and resync. So I signed out, but I can't sign back in. But signing to activate this computer worked ok. There doesn't appear to be any issue that apple is reporting, all status on services look ok. I don't get what the issue is. When I look at my account, it can't verify my payment information, which is weird because it was fine five mins ago. One min it shows ok, next min there's an issue. What's going on Apple!?

I can't sign into iTunes store via program on windows 8.1. I've tried everything, I have no answers or resolution. "There was a temporary error completing your request. An unknown error occurred. (-50). Try again later."

Doesn't appear to be for me, started at least before 2PM ET as I was trying to get to the store with an Apple TV (3rd Gen) and it could get to Netflix fine, but not iTunes store.

So I tried going to the App Store on my iPhone 5S (iOS 10.0.1) and View My Account at the bottom, on the same network as the Apple TV, couldn't view my account. Okay, weird, so I thought, maybe my credentials got screwed up or I'm locked out because of messing with the Apple TV, so let me log out and back in. Signed out on my phone, tried to sign in, it wouldn't work.

Hmmm, ok, is it the local network interfering somehow? So I turned off wifi so I could go over TMobile, and I still couldn't sign in. I thought, I'm tired, I've been traveling all morning, let's take a nap and try again in a bit. Wake up, still can't login to the account on TMobile.

So I get on my MacbookPro (mid 2012, OS X El Capitan) and go to load the iTunes app here, go to the store, see movies and songs and whatnot. Okay, so .. maybe we're working. Goto Account -> View My Account and end up with a WebView that says simply: Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

So, I say it's still down (even though it's not reported on the status page) because unless we can log in, we're all kinda boned.

According to whatismyip.com I appear to be connecting (on the MacbookPro and the Apple TV, iPhone when it's on the same network) from:

    Your IP Address Is:

    61.3

    City:Overland Park
    State:Kansas
    Country:US
    ISP:Wayport Inc.

Calling all Apple Support, when are we likely to see a resolution? Thanks all!

I finally get signed in, but I still can't change my store preferences to auto download purchases, and it can't see that I've purchased anything.

It's been down all afternoon for me. Is there going to be some sort of compensation for customers who are unable to access their purchases?
