Q: iPhone 6: missing wifi indicator

Over the last few days I've noticed that although my iPhone seems to be connected to a wireless network the signal indicator is missing. Anyone else found the same?

Anyone have any clue why this might be?

    Hey Greenlander!

When it isn't showing the indicator for Wi-Fi at the top, is it replaced by your cellular data network connection?

If it is replaced by the Cellular Data connection, then this would be normal behavior since it doesn't have a strong enough signal from the router and that makes it switch to the Cellular Data connection.

If it isn't replaced by that, then what we'll need to do is Reset Network Settings.  When we do this, it'll remove any saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN settings, or network profiles that you might've put on your iPhone.  So it'll require you to put the Wi-Fi password back in once it resets. To Reset Network Settings, here are the steps: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support

Once the phone comes back on, try to connect to your Wi-Fi again and then see if the icon is showing back up.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hey Steven

    Thanks for the reply.

No, this is when i have mobile data turned off! Looks like it was some kind of glitch in iOS; Someone suggested I try a hard reset and that fixed it for me

Glad I didn't have to reset network settings - that would be a real pita unless I could restore them from my backup.
