How do I erase and reset-up an iPod Nano 5th Generation. I can see the icon of the iPod when it is connected to iTunes but can't click on it. How can I erase and reset up? It won't let me select device and restore to original settings

What version of iTunes are you running? In iTunes your device should appear as an icon in the top area of iTunes. Click this to get to the device's summary page where you can restore it and the other media selection pages.

I can see the icon, but it won't let me click on it. If I go up and click on file-->devices the options are greyed out for sync or anything else. I am using iTunes 12.4.0.119.
Just found a new update for iTunes and updated and now I can do it.
