Q: Does everyone with a Mac seem to eventually run into Permissions Errors?
I'm beginning to think it's fundamental to owning a Mac that you'll eventually run into a permissions based error.
For some reason, related or not, today my computer's been acting erratically. Chrome's visual elements are off the screen, I don't have permission to export files to my Desktop, quicktime won't export, resizing windows causes them to jitter and snap across the screen... is this just expected eventually?
I've read now twice that I don't even have permission to take a screenshot due to the file location.
Considering El Capitan doesn't have any graphical way of fixing permissions, plus I've never found it actually helps much – particularly after having a lemon iMac, should I just wipe?
Are there other causes for just general glitchiness?
How do I get it to stop?
MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

User File Ownership - Reset see post by Linc Davis
You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.
