iPad mini Repair: new Screen but homebutton and Power button

I dropped my iPad mini shattering the screen several weeks ago, but just recently just replaced the screen.

Problem 1:

After installation the home button and Power button are unresponsive. If I hold down the power button for a long time it will turn on/off but a quick/regular click does nothing. The homebutton does not wake device up at all.

Problem 2:

The device woke up during the installation, and now has disabled itself for a very long time (several Months)

(I followed instructions to sync w/ iTunes to get around this, but iTunes requires the password to be entered in order to sync.)

The digitize seems to work (am limited in ability to test this do to being locked out)

I have no idea where to go from here. The Ipad is not sealed up, but all connections are good.

iPad Mini, iOS 9.1
