How can I remove windows vista? I used parallels to set up vista but parallels no longer functions, can i use boot camp assistant to set up a partition then use boot camp to remove vista?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), parallels desktop 3.0 & Vista home
parallels and other virtual machines by default keep the operation system as just a file on the osx disk
though parallels can access bootcamp partitions as if they were the virtual machine harddisk so one can use the same install on both bootcamp and parallels
if you did not setup bootcamp first then if you delete all the parallels files all of vista would be gone because there would be no partition other then osx
if you did the mixed bootcamp / virtual machine way then you can just remove the partition using disk utils

Someone else set this up for me, so plese bare with me, I really don't don't understand how it all functions, we used only parallels to install (no bootcamp) if I am understanding you right, if I delete, I hope uninstalling parallels, it would also removes vista, I have the original parallel start up disk and it does have an uninstall option. Please excuse me I am very computer illiterate and I dont want to mess anything up but when I am done uninstalling can I just drag the icons to the trash. Thank you for all your help.
