What is the filename where contacts are stored.
I need to restore my contacts from a backup. What is the filename where contacts are stored?
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
Depending on whether the contacts or local or in iCloud:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Metadata for Local contacts
~/Library/Application Suport/AddressBook/Sources find the iCloud account and the Metadata folder
However if your backup is in Time Machine, open the Contact application and while active, enter Time Machine. Go back in time to find the contacts. Select them and hit Restore.
