Q: How to change the date in media browser?

I had to take some extra steps to get this media into FCPX -- because of these extra steps, the date the footage was actually shot has been changed to the date (today) that I had to do some extra transcoding to the footage. I want to change files under 'June 3, 2016'  to either 'May 26, 2016', 'May 27, 2016', etc.How do I manually change this date in media browser or move the files to their appropriate date?  Please see screenshot. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

You were right with the first post -- I was trying to adjust the date for every clip under the date by simply selecting the date. I see now that I have to individually do it. Thank you for helping me out!

For multiple reasons, I do wish there was a way to link the footage with that of the original metadata (when the footage was actually shot). If anyone knows how to do this, I would be curious to hear.

    Cheers.

Could you describe the extra steps taken that you mention in the first message? Very likely they stripped off the metadata. If a conversion was involved there is no way to link to a different format with different specifications.

It was a conversion -- I had to convert MTS files to .mov files in Quicktime to get them to load into FCP X (v. 10.2.3). You answered that question. I'll take extra steps to avoid this issue in the future.

My camera is a Sony A7R and the codec (wrapped AVCHD) is a bit frustrating when trying to organize your own raw files and working within FCP X.

Why do you have .mts files? If you import AVCHD correctly from the media or from a camera archive, the media ingests directly into FCP and is rewrapped without changing the content while maintaining all metadata.
