Jun 3, 2016 10:14 PM in response to masterjack98by Rysz,The POS devices used in the Apple store use a pattern lock on iPhones.
I've never seen that. They all use Touch ID on their devices. Much more secure than any passcode or pattern code.

I'm a new iPhone user and I was just a simple question...

Jun 4, 2016 11:04 AM in response to masterjack98by LACAllen,You asked... So, Apple support does not answer questions here?
I gave you the answer to that question. And merely pointed out it had been stated.
Is that application available to the public or will one be released in the new future?
Your question is specifically not allowed on the community as per the terms you agreed to to get in here.
Very relevant. Not my rules. I am assuming you were simply unaware and was making you aware. Again, very relevant.

Jun 4, 2016 7:10 PM in response to LACAllenby masterjack98,None of what you offered is constructive. Better not to say anything if you have nothing to contribute.
I was actually advised by personnel at my local Apple Store to post my question here after I asked them and they showed me the pattern lock on their POS devices. It's a flagship store so they are likely to have systems in place that other stores may not.
The way I use the pattern lock utilizing all the dots and not starting or ending in a corner was very very secure.
I'll struggle with the hardware dependent fingerprint scanner until a more appropriate solution is arrived at.
Thanks everyone(mostly).

Jun 4, 2016 7:21 PM in response to masterjack98by LACAllen,I can see why you would think that.
Bottom line is, speculation is not allowed here. Doesn't matter who suggested it to you.
Posts get deleted for things like this. Tempers flare. Was trying to communicate that to you. You passed over those points when you signed up. And yet I didn't contribute.
Best of luck to you.
BTW, there are 3rd party solutions that may add the security you're looking for.
