Remove Non Existent Shared Device

Ok I recently bought an previously owned Macbook Pro. When I got it I found it preformatted and ready to use just had to change some account settings. I was originally going to format it myself but after not finding a large enough flash drive to put a copy of mac on I just used what was there since it was basically a fresh copy. The only thing I am having problems with is apparently the computer shop I ordered this from had a sharded mac server of some sort connected to it. Now that I own it the server says its still their but that is not true I desperately need a way to delete the server from the shared computers list on finder. I do use the shared computer features so I need to keep them enabled. I know it doesn't really matter but it is killing my OCD horribly bad.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

If you are really annoyed by it, you can try turning off all sharing options in System Preferences->Sharing

That has nothing to do with the items which are displayed in Finder under Sharing. Those options only affect the services provided by that Mac... not the services detected by that Mac.

The only way to hide those items is to unselect them in Finder -> Preferences -> Sidebar

I'd like to point out, that if El Capitan was installed on this Mac from the App Store it will be tied to the Apple ID of whoever installed it, and will forever require it to update. It is also breach of eula to use a piece of software not licensed to you. So keeping the computer as is, can cause many issues down the line.

Depending on the model of Mac, you may be able to use Internet Recovery to format and install OSx, registered and licensed to your own Apple ID without needing a USB drive.

As to the shared device, if its there its currently being shared on the network you are currently on. It being there does not really affect anything.
