Q: Mac Pro Not detecting Magic Mouse properly
Hi All,
Just installing a new Mac Pro at work. We have a Magic Mouse and Keyboard (which worked correctly on another Mac Pro) that I have unpaired from the previous, one to use on the new one.
However, when the mouse connects, the computer appears to be seeing it as the older, wired version with a rollerball in the middle (the image when it connects on screen is that of the old one, and in the bluetooth preferences - see photo). Consequently when I go in to the mouse options, it only gives me the options for track and double-click speed and none of the advanced gestures even appear there. It also means the scroll doesn't work on the magic mouse, which is pretty much intolerable.
Also, the Bluetooth Icon at the top of the screen permanently has the dashed line through it, like it's trying to connect to something. It never settles, which doesn't strike me as correct. I've updated to the latest version of El Capitan in the hope that would do it, but alas no.
If anyone has any ideas how to fix this, I'd be delighted to hear. I've tried the mouse on other machines and it seems to work, so I don't think it's a mouse issue, but always willing to listen.
Many Thanks
