Q: Using a large monitor on mac pro 2006
I have a 2006 (original) mac pro with 3gb ram and nvidia 7300gt graphics card. I use it to design on photoshop and illustrator. However, its 20" screen (aluminum Apple Cinema Display) is not large enough to see everything in one piece.
I plan on getting a bigger screen (27" or 34") but Im worried if my gpu can handle them.
Should I somehow get a better gpu? Or should I find and buy the 34" cinema display from that time? Both are very difficult to find.
Is there any recommendation you could make?
Thanks.
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), 2006 version (1.1) with 7300GT

Diagonal measurement of the screen size is irrelevant.
Your current display card can support a screen up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on its dual-Link DVI port, and an additional screen up to 1920 by 1200 pixels on its single-link DVI port.
