Q: Can't Eliminate a User from Users and Groups

I am running the latest version of El Capitan (both computers). I replaced a failing  IMac with a new Mini. Moved all my data using Migration Assistant from the iMac to the Mac Mini. Then the iMac expired permanently. On  booting the Mini I found two versions of the User "Paul Smith" and "Smitty's MacMINI" I was finally able to eliminate the user "Paul Smith" from Users in System Preferences. I now find however that my Bluetooth won't work with my iOS devices because it thinks it is discoverable from "Smitty's iMac".

I have thrown away the Bluetooth Preferences file, reset the Bluetooth Module, factory reset the Bluetooth on all Apple devices. Yet, my 6s and iPad Pro still come up undetected. My trackpad does work correctly. Have run out of ideas except to do a clean install of the OS that I have not yet tried. I'm being haunted by my defunct iMac!

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)
