Will a US iPhone work in Australia, warranty?

I amtravelling in The USA and need to buy a new phone. Will a US iPhone work in Australia and will the warranty be honoured in Australia for repairs there if needed?

Yes, it will. But you will need to unlock it from your US provider. When you get to OZ find a provider there who can support the iPhone and provide you a SIM so you can use it in OZ. See iPhone and iPad- Using cellular networks while in another country.


The US warranty may not be honored outside of the US. iDevice warranties are only good in the country where the device was purchased. It is entirely up to the foreign stores to decide if they wish to honor the warranty. Many will not so if you need service be prepared to pay for it. Meanwhile it won't hurt to carefully read the warranty.
