Keep receiving error message 3014 when attempting to restore iPod

I have been attempting to restore my iPod but keep receiving the 3014 error message.


Having read some tips on here I have disabled my Firewall, logged in and our of my iTunes account, tried using a different internet connection and repeatedly attempted to restore, all with the same result.


Grateful for any tips that can be offered before I give up throw the thing in the bin! Any help?

Your initial post never said "followed all the 'official' guidance".
