If you're struggling, check which "template" you are using to add the account. They are mostly self configuring, except for the "other" option.
Which provider and which template are you using?

Jun 4, 2016 9:19 PM in response to LACAllenby beerwidow,Yes. I am using the instructions as per the link you noted. Made it through the 'cannot connect to SSL popup, answered 'yes'. I do not find any 'advanced' setup option.(step 9). Running iOS 9.3.2 on the new phone.
