incorect operators displayed

I have just started using Numbers (3.6.2 (2577)), having switched from MS Office, and I am a bit puzzled. My first obstacle is that Numbers seems to have a little bug that makes it display the operator / (division) as + (addition), whist it calculates correctly it is confusing when editing an equation. All other operators display correctly.

Also the EDIT function does not seem to display cell co-ordinates but just Header labels. This could be my ignorance but I can find no other way of displaying an equation than to use the formula edit function.

Am I alone in having these problems?

Hi Andrew,

Am I alone in having these problems?

You are not alone 😉.

a little bug that makes it display the operator / (division) as + (addition)

Numbers 3 changes / to the division sign ÷

At the default font size, that looks like a plus sign. Many (including me) have been caught out.

the EDIT function does not seem to display cell co-ordinates but just Header labels

Menu > Numbers > Preferences >

User uploaded file

Turn off (untick) Use header names as labels.

Regards,

Ian.
