Hi,
i want to insert/create a simple table in mail. Due the fact that it is a plain HTML file, it should not be difficult, BUT....it looks like that this is not implemented in OS X mail Version 9.3 (3124). Any ideas if there is a plugin with a different editor ? or a simple workaround?
In Postbox (another e-mail client) this is implemented, but i don´t want to switch to a different mail client.
Any ideas appreciated.

This is FINALLY what I've been looking for! I could never get tables into my email in Mail before - copying from Numbers works great! Although you still cannot edit in Mail such as adjust column widths....
Why does Mail not do this?
If your email recipient does not allow html then the table will not be visible to the recipient.
I suggest you create the table in a app then save it as a PDF file. Attach the PDF file to the email. This will guarentee that the recipient will see the table formatted as you intended.
Mail doesn't support much in the way of formatting.
If you create a table in Numbers and drag it into Mail (or copy/paste), it will format it as an HTML table/message.
Double-click your HTML file to open it in Safari. Select all of your table in Safari, and then copy/paste directly into the Mail compose window. In my test, the table survives a round trip between different Gmail accounts in Apple Mail without formatting loss.
Ultimately, the mail user agent in use by the recipient, may or may not handle this content as you would hope.
Why does Mail not do this?
It's not a word processor. It is a very basic email client.
