Q: Just bought SD Card Reader (USB 3 compatible version). Does not work on iPhone. Don't have an iPad... ideas?

Just got the iPhone SD Card Adapter, was told in store and by the Apple Store website that it would work for iPhone, and it does not. Only have 1 SD card to try, it's an SDXC card (listed as compatible) from a Canon Rebel T5i. Reads on every other device I could possibly find to plug it into.

When I first connected it, I saw the import icon for maybe a second, then it went away. I've restarted my phone 3 times now, and can't get it to read my SD card.

HELP?

All the threads on this are old and predate this peripheral supporting iPhone connections with iOS 9.2 and forward (I'm on 9.3.2 with an iPhone 6S).

its marked as compatible http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJYT2AM/A/lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader?f node=97

it could be your expectations and what the product offer which are not in sync

as far as I understand this thing will let you import photos stored on the sd card and they has to be stored in a dir named DCIM

and it will only (as far as I know) let you import as in copy the photos (not videos I think but not 100%) into the storage of your ios device

after you can use your digital cam to format the sd card and take more photos

I Have to assume you didn't read beyond the subject of my post, because you'd know I was using the SD card with a popular DSLR that obviously formatted DCIM. It does not let me import any photos. At all. Won't even show the measly 30 photos on the card. Same SD card works with Android phone (different adapter) and works in camera. It doesn't have any issues with any other card readers, only Apple's.
