Moving back to an iPhone after 18 months frustration with a droid.

How do I set up my email on my iPhone 6s plus without loading the 10k+ emails on the server; something to do with POP, or the other choice?

Follow the steps here for an IMAP account. The emails will not all download unless you keep scrolling down.
