Q: Location Based Reminders

Hello, I am an iPhone 4s user. Just a couple days ago I went to reminders and wanted to remind myself to get milk when I leave home. there was no location option so I asked Siri: "remind me to get milk when I leave home." last week she said "Ok." But a couple of days ago she said this instead: "The calendar that tracks your reminders doesn't support location based reminders." I went to the iPhone 4s keynote and at 26:42 the guy starts talking about location based reminders (link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXlP5PASWNw). was this because of a software update

Please Help.

    Hey Bowlingball,

Sounds like you’re having issues setting a location based reminder and you got a message saying the calendar that tracks your reminders doesn’t support location based reminders. I’ll be more than happy to help.

First, lets check to see if you have reminders enabled in iCloud.

    1. Open settings

    2. Tap on iCloud

    3. Make sure the reminders switch is turned on.

It sounds like you have an account on your iPhone for calendars other than iCloud, which might not support the location based reminders. You can change the default calendar to be your iCloud calendar. This should fix this issue for you. Take a look at this article:  Keep your Calendar up to date with iCloud - Apple Support

    Set your default calendar

When you create a new event, iCloud will add it to your default calendar. To make setting appointments easier, the calendar you use the most—probably for work or home—should be your default calendar. You can change your default calendar from your device or on iCloud.com.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

    1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

    2. In the Calendars section, tap Default Calendar.

    3. Choose the calendar that you want to use as your default.

Have a great rest of your week!
